Charles Dickens Christmas Stories is for sale. This is a compilation of the Charles Dickens Christmas Stories which was published in the Household Words and is the special Christmas Number for 1868.

This Charles Dickens Christmas Book although not dated can be dated accurately since it contains an advertisement for Beeton’s Christmas Annual ninth season that was published in 1868. It is important to note that Household Words was a weekly magazine of the 1850’s that was edited by Charles Dickens. This Charles Dickens Christmas Book was published by Ward Lock and Tyler London.

Beneath the advertisement for Beeton’s Annual is an explanation for this Charles Dickens Christmas Book that reads:

“The announcement by Mr. Dickens that he would not this year publish a Christmas Number of “All the Year Round”, as has hitherto been his custom, has been very much regretted by thousands in the British Isles.

Contained in this very rare Charles Dickens Christmas book are the following stories The Holly-Tree Inn (1855), The Wreck of the Golden Mary (1856), The Perils of Certain English Prisoners (1857), and A House To Let (1858).

This is a soft cover book and so it is very scarce to have survived for so long. The front cover is brightly and festively decorated in green and red and bears the title Household Words The Christmas Stories Conducted by Charles Dickens. The covers are in Very Good condition with slight age toning and 2.00 inches approx) loss to the top of the spine.

Each of the Charles Dickens Christmas Stories from Household Words has the date of publication and the page numbering as originally issued in the Christmas Number.
